Magneko

Game Outline

Magneko is a two-player physics-based puzzle game with a focus on teamwork and cooperation. Each of the two players can harness either the magnetic power of either attraction or repulsion. Using these magnetic burst and beam abilities, players need to be methodical in order to progress through the levels. Although there is platforming, the puzzles mainly rely on the players using their magnetic abilities to interact with each other and objects in the game-world.

Story

A mad scientist has been experimenting with creating magnetic-cat hybrids. Knife, a resulting magnetic cat, was created with the ability to control the magnetic attractive force. The laboratory's robo-cat caretaker, Refrigerator, who can use a repulsion ability, sees his master’s cruelty and frees Knife from her incubating tank. After trying to escape the lab, they fall down a trash chute into the Earth’s core. Both Knife and Fridge must use teamwork and their magnetic abilities to climb back up the surface.

Controls

Currently, we only have implemented controls for the PS4 DualShock 4 controller.  You may use a different controller, but the mappings will not work as we intend with the PS4 controller as below.

Development Status

This project is still in development. We are working to polishing. All features are in and only minor changes to individual levels will be made.

Recommended specs

You do not need much to run this game, but you do need two PS4 controllers.
